IPfire + advanced proxy utk pelajar

Langkah asas untuk setup Proxy server dengan menggunakan IPfire

1. download latest Ipfire os. tak besar <100mb.
ambil ISO image untuk burn pada cd.

2. sediakan 1 pc beserta 2 nic. kalau boleh 2gb ram. dan cpu core2duo keatas.
lagi besar lagi bagus. hdd 80 gb dah cukup.

3. bila install, ikut wizard yg dipaparkan.
-- penting masa setup network card - kenalpasti green nic(LAN) dan red nic(INTERNET/streamyx)
setup ip utk red dan utk green 10.10.10.254

4. setup dhcp pd green nic utk memudahkan pc LAN dpt ip beserta DNS.

5. selepas siap boleh login web base management ipfire dari lan.
contoh https://10.10.10.254:444
login dengan admin dan pasword XXX

6. pergi ke network dan aktifkan proxy.
boleh pilih utk buat transparent proxy atau dengan login.
utk transparent - pc lan tak perlu set apa2, tetapi perlu melalui IPfire proxy sebelum ke internet.
utk login - pilih local login - create user local. default port adalah 800. boleh tukar. pastikan pd ie atau firefox setkan ip proxy 10.10.10.254 dan port 800.

selepas apa2 perubahan jgn lupa save dan reload atau restart proxy.

7. test pada pc lan utk login.

8. lihat log utk proxy. semua paparan url user akan keluar beserta dgn ip pc atau nama user.

9. masih gagal utk setkan group acl... tak jumpa gui utk create new group dlm user management.
jika ada gorup management mudah utk stopkan aktiviti internet semasa mengajar. kalau ada 20 orang pelajar 1 kelas penat utk disable 1 persatu. kena study lagi. maybe ada addon extension kena install.

GPS Navman N191

buy 2nd gps from friend. not use because map not update and always hang.
not have memory card.
only have basic setting for wince and garmin and papago
mod wince and upgrade garminxt and papago.
used 2gb sdcard ... from handphone.
update map from malfreemap.
test gps ok.
need to find malay voice for garmin.
test movie and mp3. ok. but limited storage.
need to buy new 8gb.

project 2011

1. create own firewall di department.
separate student access dgn staff for better security
target : use IPFIRE technology atau mysurguard+centos. atau kedua2nya.

2. create moodle server utk digunakan oleh staff and student... sambung projek 2010.

3. new file server with antivirus scanning.

2010 project. DONE.

moodle elearning dah siap untuk modul skm komputer sistem it020 tahap 4 semester 4.
cuma tertinggal 1 modul lagi. modul unix atau linux.
next 2011...upgrade modul unix dan modul sem 5 pula.

Upgrade hardware and software firewall for XXX.
selepas experimentand developement proses.
tukarkan IPCOP kepada yang latest.
centos + shorewall. lot to configure using cli or webmin... not suitable for non technical person and not easy to maintance.
found IPFIRE. pada pendapat saya mudah dikonfigurasi sebagaimana IPCOP. banyak feature dan lebih up to date dari IPCOP.
try pfSence... tak boleh dialup adsl... pelik tapi benar.. banyak feature.. sayang tak boleh try.
result : guna IPfire versi terbaru... need to maintance and update daily for security. alhamdulillha tiada masalah hang sebagaimana IPCOP. amat mudah digunakan dibandingkan dengan shorewall.
hardware upgrade dari Pentium 3 cpu 256mb ram 100mb 80 hdd 100mb nic kepada
core 2 duo cpu, 2gb ram, 3 Gbic nic, 80Gb hdd. - use lan, dmz zone dan internet seting.
tiada lagi masalah hang.

next upgrade email server.
email server dibawah dmz zone ipfire. selamat.
guna teknologi qmailtoaster+centos. latest updated.
mulanya guna sme 7.5... ada masalah dengan email tak boleh hantar ke gmail dan yahoo masa testing. problem adalah tiada domain eky atau dkim. masalah utama tidak jumpa cara yang betul utk add dkim feature pada sme server. bagusnya sme server senang dikongiure dan maintain. tapi default tak support dkim.
qmailtoaster sekarang senang install dan configure. dah siap ada semua efature termasuk dkim. just sesuaikan dgn environment office di XXX.
tukarkan squirrelmail dgn rouncube kerana permintaan utk lebih cantik @ cute.
masalahnya rouncube belum cukup stabil sebagaimana squirrelmail.
tapi why note... dah cuba baru dpt belajar perkara baru.

create file server utk 2 department. guna samba server dan centos.
department yang lain belum request. kena study fileserver yang lebih baik yang ada antivirus filter. selepas study boleh implement utk selesaikan masalh virus pada file server terutamanya folder yang di share.
openfiler centos base atau frenas atau sme atau lain2 yang sesuai. sambung project for 2011.
